Finding my Home... in my Career
Many, many moons ago I started my career path in the legal field. Obtained my degree in law, worked for years in the prosecutor's office, then went on hiatus for 19 years to raise my two children. Raising my children was by far the part of my life I have loved the most. When I found myself in an empty nest, I went back to work in family law, and subsequently, in medical malpractice defense, representing hospitals and doctors. As you can ascertain, my career path had been one of interactions with people during their absolute worst moments in life, in a rigid and unrelenting environment. I needed a change for my own happiness, a change that included positive and exciting experiences for the people I worked with and for.
I have always had a strong passion toward real estate development, home design, and home decor, in addition to helping people no matter the need, giving them the most positive experience possible. The legal field fulfilled my passion for legal formats and practices, but I was missing something important…. the ability to connect with my clients more directly, aiding them in one of the most exciting and important decisions of their lives, an experience that should be an incredibly positive one. I have a strong passion for working with people from any walk of life (it’s the Wapato girl in me!) and bringing them the most positive experience, coupled with obtaining the most optimal results possible.
I anticipated building friendships with my clients. I had no questions that would happen, and found myself excited about meeting the people I knew would eventually become my friends! What I hadn't realized was that I would be amongst the most wonderful, kind, generous, caring, and creative people I have ever known. Realtors are all of that! I am so honored to get to know the outstanding people in my field, and even more so, in our RE/MAX-The Collective office. To say everyone in our office is truly genuine and giving is an understatement. Every single person at RE/MAX-The Collective is readily there for each other and their clients at a moment's notice, no ulterior motives, nor expectations of personal gain. Pure selflessness!. In the legal field, I had never seen anything like this! In a field where one would think we are competing with one another, it is the exact opposite. We all want each other to succeed and will do anything to help each other in any way! I am so grateful to be in this field, and truly blessed to work with everyone at RE/MAX-The Collective!
I can't end this without mentioning our community! As for our incredible Yakima Valley, in my opinion, there is no place greater, more diverse, rich in culture, with the most welcoming people in the world. After 30 years away from here, and having traveled the world, I know that now more than ever!
